Across the country, there has been a trend in a rising number of Covid cases. With school back in session, the arrival of fall and a new variant appearing, many students risk catching or spreading the virus to others.

Schools are debating what steps should be taken to stop the spread of Covid-19. Is it up to the families to take precautions, or should school systems mandate rules to protect students, faculty and staff?

Many students at Virginia Tech have experienced Covid-19, the flu and other sicknesses since the start of the school year, causing many students to miss school and making other students feel unsafe and uncomfortable hearing the mass amounts of coughing and sneezing in the classrooms.

To help understand the impact of COVID-19 on college campuses, Dr. Linsey Marr discusses ways to live in a post-pandemic world.

“I do not see another lockdown happening unless we have another variant that has a high fatality rate,” said Marr.
